Favorite Places:In the east Mont Tremblant in Quebec has the best combination of culture, food, fun, and good skiing. For pure skiing in the east Sugarloaf can't be beat. In the far west Kirkwood in California like sugarloaf has wonderful terrain but it's a little isolated. In the rockies Aspen Highlands has a similar feel but there is an actual town nearby and although it has a reputation for snobery I've always enjoyed it. In Europr the Arlberg region is fantastic. Great culture food and good skiing.
Gear of choice and why:Head skis boots and bindings. The power, performnace and unshakeable stability of Head skis allow me to ski anywhere any way I want. While the comfort and power of Head boots allow me to do it all day. And the safety of Head bindings (made by Tyrolia)give me the confidence to push myself.
Any Hobbies outside of your specialty:Last summer I began the process of learning to surf. While I've been able to stand and had a few good rides I have a long way to go. But I'm enjoying every minute of it.
What does your specialty mean to you?Skiing to me is a part of the overall mountain experience. The beauty of the mountains in winter and the people that enjoy them are what make skiing so much fun. The sensations of skiing; the forces that build when arcing a turn, the float and fluidity when immersed in deep powder, the thrill and fear of conquering steep and difficult terrain are wonderful but incomplete without sharing these experiences with others.
